The Odlo Polyknit Warm Eco muts has been a success for years now. During active winteractivities, it is a must have: no sweat, and keeping the body warm (20% of body heat leaves the body through the head's surface). It is very light, so it almost takes no space in your luggage. The only two minor things are that it isn't very fashionable in regular circumstances (it has a sporty look, a little bit like a swimming cap), and in heavy cold, you need to take care that your earlobes are covered. This hat can do that, but for minus 10-20C° temperatures, I would advise another hat; but this can serve excellent as an 'undercap' f.i. in a motorcycle helmet or bikehelmet.
