Can you wear merino performance apparel in summer?
Definitely. The magic of merino clothing is that it adapts to your body temperature, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter. Plus, although it’s wool, it’s more breathable than cotton. Just adapt your grammage to the season. For example, choose:
- - 115 to 150 GSM for summer
- - 190 to 200 GSM during winter
- - At least 260 GSM for skiing
And merino clothing’s thermoregulation works even when wet. That’s because merino wool is naturally water resistant, absorbing around 30 per cent of its weight in moisture before feeling damp. And let’s not forget it’s quick drying, too.
Is 100 per cent merino wool sportswear good quality?
Nothing trumps the superior quality of pure merino. Compared to regular wool, merino is more breathable, finer and softer (without any of the itchiness previously associated with the fabric).
