Odlo is ‘Out for More’ at the 2024 High Trail Vanoise
Trail run weekend unites real athletes, real runners and real racing in one of Europe’s truest trail arenas.
(February 2nd, Hünenberg, CH) – ODLO, the Swiss-based performance apparel brand, is today excited to announce that Martin Fourcade will become its newest global brand ambassador.
Fourcade is a five-time Olympic champion and the most successful French Olympic athlete of all time. A true legend. The four-year collaboration agreement will see Fourcade work with the brand on different projects, including events, product development and various brand campaigns.
“I’m honoured to join the ODLO family,” said Fourcade about the announcement. “I already have a long history with ODLO having had the opportunity to wear it throughout my professional career. I grew up watching my French and Norwegian idols win while wearing ODLO, so it is with great pride that I join this renowned brand. I’m very excited to grow together and to inspire others with a year-round, multi-sport passion for the outdoors.”
In 13 years of international competition, Fourcade claimed over 180 Olympic, World Championship and World Cup titles. After leaving the professional biathlon world in March 2020, Fourcade has had time to pursue different outdoor passions. ODLO is extremely proud to collaborate with such an iconic athlete – one that personifies why ODLO designs clothing and the environments for which it creates.
A shared heritage
ODLO’s heritage in cross-country skiing is well-known, as is Fourcade’s. While Fourcade made a name for himself from his World Cup Debut in March 2008 and through 186 podiums and his Olympic success, ODLO’s Olympic moment came in 1972 at the Sapporo games, where an impressive 25 national teams wore the first fully synthetic base layer – the ODLO Thermic – in the pre-sponsorship era when teams paid for kit themselves.
Today, both Fourcade and ODLO have evolved significantly. Fourcade is a multi-disciplinary athlete who runs, cycles, skis and loves spending time in the mountains, while ODLO moves with everyday athletes all year across different playing fields. The two are linked through their shared passions and interests and see significant opportunities to continue growing together in new directions.
“We are extremely proud to have an athlete with Martin’s palmarès and interests join us,” added Daniel Eppler, ODLO’s new CEO. “This is the start of a new era for the brand fueled around a passion for being active, and we’re delighted to have Martin as a partner who can help introduce our performance apparel to more everyday athletes.”
Fourcade’s four-year ambassador commitment marks the start of a new era for ODLO. With a new CEO and a new marketing director announced in recent months, the brand is excited to chart a new path forward, working with like-minded personalities and athletes to build brand awareness and explore areas for growth.
A history of success
Part of this ambassador agreement includes Fourcade inputting on a broad range of running, skiing, cycling and outdoor products, drawing on his storied career for product insights. Some of those career highlights include:
· Seven Olympic medals (5 gold)
· Twenty-eight World Championship medals (13 gold)
· An impressive 186 World Cup podiums
· Seven overall World Cup titles
The current agreement runs through December 2026.

Odlo, the Swiss-based performance apparel brand, has long been respected within the outdoor industry. Founded in 1946 in Norway by Odd Roar Lofterød Sr, the brand first made its mark by developing an elastic, heat-regulating suit that revolutionised cross-country skiing. Odlo then became the apparel brand of choice for twenty-five national teams at the 1964 Innsbruck Winter Olympics – including the entire Norwegian national team – who went on to win a raft of medals. Further groundbreaking innovations followed with the introduction of the first fully synthetic sweat-wicking base layer, the launch of the pioneering three-layer principle, and expansion into performance apparel for outdoor pursuits beyond Nordic sports.
