Race ready: ODLO equips Swiss-Ski’s Nordic teams for 2023/24 winter season

Swiss-Ski Nordic team athletes now decked out in ODLO’s LEVADA race suit for the first time.

(Oct 9th, Hünenberg, CH) – Last week, ODLO, the Swiss-based performance clothing brand, proudly equipped Swiss-Ski’s Nordic team members with its high-performance winter apparel for the 2023/24 competitive season. This follows the brands earlier announcement in May that it would once again supply the Swiss-Ski Nordic teams in a new four-year agreement through to 2027.

ODLO were thrilled to officially hand over their apparel at Swiss-Ski’s Abgabetag in Dübendorf, Zurich, last Wednesday October 4th.  Over seventy Nordic athletes and their coaching and support teams were equipped with ODLO base layers, competition and training apparel.

The Abgabetag event saw the entire Swiss-Ski family - across all eleven sports of the association –presented with their equipment for the upcoming season, as well as participate in sponsor events and presentations.

“We take immense pride in our partnership with Swiss-Ski,” said Daniel Eppler, ODLO’s CEO, during the event. "While we are delighted to provide the Nordic teams with our exceptional clothing, our real goal is to go beyond being outfitters. We look forward to working more closely together than ever before, to collectively elevate the Nordic experience entirely.”

Swiss-Ski’s Nordic teams share ODLO’s delight to once again be working together. “I’m super happy to be back in ODLO this season,” expressed biathlete Niklas Hartweg. “I’m really familiar with the brand and I’m confident that they provide great kit – the pieces are warm, comfortable, perform really well, all while looking great.”

LEVADA race suit lands big with Nordic

This year, the ODLO Nordic race suit will mimic that of the Alpine team for the first time. The LEVADA design, launched on Alpine suits in 2022, celebrates Swiss-Ski’s relationship with long-term title sponsor Sunrise. The LEVADA name, meaning ‘sunrise’ in Romansh (the dialect of renowned mountain sport region Graubünden), or ‘get up again’, fits Sunrise’s “Dream Big. Do Big” mission.

The race suit itself is also built to inspire success, showcasing ODLO’s long-standing Nordic expertise. Having innovated the first heat-regulating cross-country race suit back in 1963, which was later worn by a host of medal winning athletes at the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, the brand is proud to provide Swiss-Ski athletes with the technical performance pieces. Built for speed, the fitted suit is crafted to deliver exceptional freedom of movement and breathability.

Biathlete Amy Baserga commented: “the race suit is perfect. We tested it two years ago and it really performed. I'm excited to race in ODLO this winter.”

A limited collection of ODLO LEVADA suits will be released for general sale in December. Pre-orders can already be made here.

Partnering for success

With ODLO holding Nordic sports close to its heart for over 75 years, this is a partnership built on shared passions and a desire to discover new opportunities together. In addition to the Swiss-Ski teams representing the brand at all Nordic events, their latest partnership also includes Swiss-Ski athletes inputting on product development and participating in a new athlete apprenticeship programme at ODLO headquarters in Hünenberg, Switzerland.

With the apparel now officially handed over and the athletes preparing for their season-opening events in Oestersund Sweden, and Ruka, Finland at the end of November, the brand wishes the Swiss-Ski athletes and their teams the very best of success.
