We can do more is our commitment to protect the people and places we love by focusing on the areas where we can make the greatest progress. These include fair workplaces, renewable energy, preferred materials, and circularity.
We're excited to share the work we’ve done and acknowledge we still have lots of ground to cover. We are adding resources and learning every day so that we can become a more sustainable and accountable company.
At the heart of our “Make it fair” commitment is the belief that every person working in our facilities has the right to fair working conditions, a healthy lifestyle and overall well-being in the workplace. Therefore, our goal is for our garment workers to earn a living wage for themselves and their families and to work only reasonable hours.
To maintain this commitment, for over ten years we’ve partnered with Fair Wear Foundation – a leading independent organisation that works with brands, garment workers, governments, and industry stakeholders to consistently improve labour conditions inside garment factories.
“Choose with care” is about prioritising preferred materials wherever possible (to lessen our impact on places we love) while still maximising the functional comfort of our products. From fibre production to yarn preparation, fabric manufacturing through dyeing and finishing, every step in the process contributes to our products’ environmental footprint, including carbon emissions and water use. By carefully choosing materials that deliver consistently reduced impacts when compared to conventional equivalents, we can reduce the impact of our clothing on the climate, protecting both finite resources and people.
We design products to be durable which means that even when used, they can often be repaired and sent back out for years. We also take back pieces when they’ve reached the absolute end of the road and it’s time for them to be replaced. This is our circularity commitment, rooted in our ReWEAR program – an initiative that gives Odlo pieces a second chance at life through repair, resale, and take-back programmes.
Going for green is about ensuring our Scope 1+2 energy sources at Odlo-owned facilities are renewable by 2030. By producing solar energy and heating with renewables, we'll do more to keep air clean and protect environments where we operate.
