2024 was quite a year for our business. We built a new brand strategy, a revitalised product range, and a renewed purpose when it comes to doing more to protect the outdoor spaces we love.
Conducted a Materiality Assessment
We conducted a Materiality Assessment which surveyed our key stakeholders (including employees, owners, and partners) on what matters to Odlo and to them. This was a critical exercise in informing our strategy. The results of the materiality assessment reinforce our commitment to: Make it Fair: Prioritising fair working conditions in our own factory and throughout the supply chain. Choose with Care: Choosing certified materials with reduced impact, implementing robust chemical management, and transitioning to clean energy. Close the Loop: Focusing on product quality and longevity and making repair services accessible to all customers.
Launched ReWEAR programmes in four Odlo brand stores
ReWEAR resale programmes were successfully launched in Zurich, Berlin, Oslo and Lenzerheide, while our repair service expanded to Odlo retail locations in Switzerland and Annecy. We have plans to extend both these programs in 2025! Read more about this circularity commitment.
“By communicating openly and honestly with stakeholders, Odlo can strengthen its reputation, build trust, and create a positive impact.”
Renewed our Protect our Winters (POW) Partnership
As an official partner of POW through direct sponsorship since 2021, our work together revolves around supporting POW's mission to protect the environment with ambitious climate policy and joint product developments specifically created to help raise climate crisis awareness. We are proud to continue to support POW Switzerland in 2025 to drive systemic and behavioral change.
Living wage study at our garment factory in Romania
Odlo recently conducted a living wage study for our Romania operations, following the ILO definition and using the Anker Methodology. The results indicate that a majority of our workers in Romania are currently earning a living wage as calculated for that specific region. We view this as a positive baseline and, in line with our "Make it Fair" commitment, will continue to work towards ensuring fair and sustainable wages for all our employees.
Implemented a human rights due diligence system
Human Rights Due Diligence took centre stage at Odlo this year. We conducted a thorough risk assessment of all garment makers, and we are now implementing action plans accordingly. Check out our Social Report for more details.
“We can do more” is our commitment to protect the people and places we love.
Made sustainable textiles switzerland 2030 commitment
We proudly joined the Sustainable Textiles Switzerland (STS) 2030 initiative, a multi-stakeholder program with the mission to make a significant contribution to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Swiss textile and apparel sector. We're excited to see where this partnership leads us.
Strove to develop our first-ever circular base layer
A few months ago, we embarked on an exciting journey with DePoly, an award-winning chemical recycling pioneer. Together, we're aiming to tackle a major waste challenge: transforming fabric scraps from our Active Warm base layers into high-quality recycled PET. This innovative approach could pave the way for our first-ever circular base layer. You might have already caught a glimpse of this project in our press release or on LinkedIn.
Harmonized on Compliance Topics
We successfully aligned on critical compliance topics, including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and green claims regulations. This ensures Odlo’s messaging is accurate and avoids any form of greenwashing. Getting the “fundamentals” right will continue to be important for Odlo in 2025.
Kicked off carbon footprint assessment
We kicked off our carbon footprint journey with Carbonfact in December 2024. Look out for the results which will be published later in 2025.
“We’re committed to being transparent about our decision-making so workers’ well being can be addressed.”
