Odlo Progresses Toward “Leader” Status in Fair Wear’s Brand Performance Check

In the latest BPC covering fiscal year 2023/24, Odlo significantly improved its score, moving closer to Fair Wear’s highest possible rating, “Leader” status.

What is the Brand Performance Check?

The Brand Performance Check (BPC) is Fair Wear’s annual audit of its member brands. Conducted by independent Fair Wear employees, it evaluates how companies implement human rights due diligence across their supply chains.

The assessment is structured around four categories of indicators and results in a benchmark score. Based on this score, brands are classified as:

  • Leader

  • Good

  • Needs Improvement

This ensures a transparent, impartial comparison of performance across the industry.

Our 2023/24 Results

Compared to the previous year, Odlo improved its score by 19 points, rising from 40 to 59 points. This places us at the upper mid-range of the “Good” category, a clear step forward in our long-term journey toward Leader status (70+ points). Our progress this year reflects: 1. Responsible sourcing and stronger, trust-based supplier partnerships 2. A comprehensive risk assessment across our garment suppliers 3. Improved monitoring and remediation of past issues These achievements highlight Odlo’s increasing commitment to ethical production and transparency.

What will it take to reach Leader status?

Being rated “Good” already places Odlo ahead of many of our industry peers, as confirmed by Fair Wear itself. But we believe we can (and we must) do more. Our goal is to achieve Leader status by FY 2028, building on the strong foundation we’ve created.

The next steps on our journey include:

  1. Strengthening Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining

    Ensuring workers across our supply chain can organise and negotiate for better conditions.

  2. Addressing Barriers for Women and Migrant Workers

    Following our 2023 survey on gender representation and wage disparities, we will continue working with suppliers to tackle bias and improve equality.

  3. Developing a Living Wage Roadmap

    Our 2023 study in Odlo Romania showed that 80% of our workforce already earns a living wage thanks to continuous wage increases. We’re committed to improving this and our aim is to reach 100% of our workforce.

  4. Extending Human Rights Due Diligence

    Expanding our efforts beyond garment manufacturing.

  5. Direct Engagement with Workers and Grassroots Organisations

    Going beyond supplier management to ensure workers’ voices are heard directly.

  6. Embedding Responsibility Across Odlo

    With every Odlo employee a Fair Wear member, there is an opportunity for all of us to advocate for human rights within our roles.

Commitment to Continuous Improvement

Reaching “Leader” status will not happen overnight, but we are committed to making steady, meaningful progress. Our improved score demonstrates that Odlo is moving in the right direction - building deeper partnerships, advancing living wages, and prioritising workers’ rights.

We can do more, and this is just the start.
