Odlo is ‘Out for More’ at the 2024 High Trail Vanoise
Trail run weekend unites real athletes, real runners and real racing in one of Europe’s truest trail arenas.
(October 26th, Hünenberg, CH) – ODLO, the Swiss-based performance apparel brand, today released its first product collab with Protect Our Winters (POW) Switzerland – an NGO dedicated to raising climate crisis awareness.
The drop lands on Global Sustainability Day and follows ODLO’s renewed commitments to its own sustainability targets under its “we can do more” initiative.
Partnering for progress
ODLO is working with POW and other key sustainability partners to meet its sustainability targets, including setting and communicating a clear GHG reduction target and plan in 2024. ODLO and POW have been partners since 2021; the NGO recently wrapped its “Vote like you…” campaign, which ODLO was proud to support. Both sides are now very happy to branch out into new spheres of awareness with a co-branded base layer adorned with a shared logo.
"Collaborating with ODLO and leveraging our collective influence to reach and engage more people is critical to our climate protection efforts," stated Nicholas Bornstein, founder of POW Switzerland. “We’re thrilled to strengthen our partnership with this launch – the first in our joint product development."
Introducing ODLO x POW Blackcomb
The new ODLO x POW Blackcomb base layers have been co-created to minimise their environmental impact and feature a unique design created specifically to help raise climate crisis awareness.
Made with over seventy per cent recycled polyester, these high-performance seamless base layers deliver an unmatched range of motion, dry fast, deliver enhanced breathability and insulate in cool weather. Cut in a next to skin fit, they’re also finished with ZeroScent - a bio-based antibacterial treatment that limits odours.
The striking, integrated body mapped graphic has been purposefully designed to represent a melting glacier, while “Protect our winters” has been embossed into the interior.
Alpinists Simon Wuilmart and Guillaume Maret tested the layers during their epic expedition across the Alps: “Quick drying, perfectly fit to the body and well-designed in collaboration with POW, the Blackcomb base layers are some of the best we have ever used.”
Available as a long sleeve top in three styles (crew neck, quarter zip or complete with integrated face mask) along with coordinating pants in two styles (three quarter or full length), these versatile layers come in three impactful colourways and are ideal for a host of activities – from skiing to winter running or hiking.
We can do more
“We can do more” is ODLO’s continued commitment to protecting the spaces we love long into the future.
With further product collaborations with POW in the pipeline, this elevated relationship exemplifies the brands ongoing dedication to the protection of our planet. It also follows the announcement earlier this month of their expanded circularity initiative, ODLO ReWEAR, showcased at their new flagship Zurich store on Löwenstrasse.
That said, ODLO continues to recognise that they have more work ahead and state that the launch of initiatives like this is just the start. Find out more about ODLO’s sustainability actions here.

Odlo, the Swiss-based performance apparel brand, has long been respected within the outdoor industry. Founded in 1946 in Norway by Odd Roar Lofterød Sr, the brand first made its mark by developing an elastic, heat-regulating suit that revolutionised cross-country skiing. Odlo then became the apparel brand of choice for twenty-five national teams at the 1964 Innsbruck Winter Olympics – including the entire Norwegian national team – who went on to win a raft of medals. Further groundbreaking innovations followed with the introduction of the first fully synthetic sweat-wicking base layer, the launch of the pioneering three-layer principle, and expansion into performance apparel for outdoor pursuits beyond Nordic sports.
