Way Beyond: Jake Catterall’s epic run across Europe
Ultra-distance athlete Jake Catterall is on a mission to get people moving. His three-month, 5000 km run from Norway to Spain is afoot.
By arriving on the Place des Armes in Belfort on Saturday 11th July after 26h41 of effort over 203km, Maxime Grenot did not content himself with beating the previous record, he smashed it by almost 3 hours. A couple of days before this record, the TSL Team, of which Maxime is a member, discovered and tested our future running-trail collection for Spring Summer 2021 and gave us their feedback.

"It was challenging but it was awesome."
Encouraged by his team and his family, motivated by his coach in the hardest moments and benefiting from almost ideal weather conditions for this type of performance, Maxime managed to cover the 7400m climb of this race in 26h41, only 11 minutes more than initially planned. The course, which starts in Abreschviller and finishes in Belfort, passes through most of the peaks of the Vosges such as the Champ du Feu, the Hohneck or the Grand Ballon as well as through the Schirmeck and Thann valleys, hence the impressive difference in altitude.
A few days before Maxime's record, the TSL team went to ODLO France's offices in Annecy to discover the future Spring-Summer 2021 running-trail collection. The presentation of the collection by the French ODLO team was followed by a test outing in the mountains surrounding Lake Annecy.

"The Dual Dry jacket is great, the hood and visor are perfect, well-fitted, light and can be stored anywhere because it fits anywhere."
"Really light and breathable shorts. Concerning the T-shirt: Always pleasant, even in very hot conditions, dries very quickly and prevents from bad odors. Ideal fit."

For the purposes of writing recommendations like this one, we test tees while running (naturally) or in the gym doing stretching and strength work. So far this season, I have about 400km in the legs and two target trail events fast approaching: the Jura Swiss Trail and UTMB Verbier. So what’s the verdict?
