Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) has granted ODLO Leader status for the sixth year after it earned a score of 90 during its 2020 assessment – the highest FWF score in ODLO’s history.

Leader Status recognises "member companies that are operating at an advanced level, showing best practices in complex areas such as living wages and freedom of association."

"Even in challenging circumstances, sustainability and responsibility are always top priorities for us. We care about everyone involved in our supply chain and being a Fair Wear member allows us to improve our relationship with them constantly. To receive the Leader status for a sixth year shows that we are on the right path," said Knut Are Høgberg, ODLO CEO.

The FWF report highlights ODLO's successful navigation through the economic challenges of the past year. The company managed to navigate the challenges while achieving key targets, such as raising wages in its own facility in Romania to meet its target wage.

“Last year was challenging, with continuous changes at our production partners, cancelled audits and training due to the pandemic. To ensure compliance, we introduced our own monitoring framework to stay connected. I am proud that these efforts were recognized at the latest BPC from FWF,” said Julia Krämer, ODLO Sustainability Manager

What is the Fair Wear Brand Performance Check?

Fair Wear's Brand Performance Check is a tool to evaluate and report on Fair Wear's member-company activities. The checks examine how member-company management systems support Fair Wear's Code of Labour Practices, evaluating member supply chains where clothing is assembled. This is the most labour-intensive part of garment supply chains and where brands can have the most influence over working conditions.
